Police looking for motorist in deadly Morrison Drive hit and run

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are still searching for a vehicle that struck two pedestrians Sunday morning on Morrison Drive.

Sgt. Chris Stinson with the Charleston Police Department (CPD) said a citizen called police to report that two people were unresponsive and off the roadway just after 8:30 a.m.

The victims, whose identities have not yet been released, were pronounced at the scene by Charleston County EMS.

Sgt. Stinson said that officers began investigating the incident as a hit and run after discovering debris from a vehicle nearby and the proximity of the victims to the roadway.

So far, no arrests have been made. The investigation remains active by CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department Traffic Unit at 843-965-4084 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
