Summer-like temperatures expected Friday with a chance for showers and thunderstorms

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Summer-like temperatures are on tap for Friday with a possibility of showers and thunderstorms this weekend.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers said the day will warm into the mid-80s to near 90 degrees, approaching the record high of 91 degrees set back in 1995.

Marthers said there is a risk for a few showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

“Higher probabilities of rain arrive Sunday, particularly in the afternoon and overnight. We’re cooler behind the cold front Monday with highs near 70°, although we are back to the 80s by midweek next week,” he said.
