How To Spend A Perfect Day On Sullivan’s Island

Nestled at the mouth of the Charleston Harbor and neighbor to Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island is an inviting mix of wide beaches and water sports, history and folklore, local restaurants and shops! Our perfect day on Sullivan’s Island looks a little something like this:

MORNING

Grab your beach bags and meander down one of Sullivan’s Island’s unique and beautiful beach stations (which are destinations in themselves). Enjoy a leisurely walk along the shore, grab the crew for a beach game, get lost in a good read with your toes in the sand or head out for a morning of kiteboarding if you’re feeling adventurous!

AFTERNOON

Take a break from soaking up that Southern sun and head to Mex 1 for a chips & salsa pick-me-up (margarita non-negotiable)! Then make your way to explore Fort Moultrie – the partially built palmetto-log fort that successfully repelled a land and sea assault by much larger British forces during the American Revolution. Did you know the fort remained an active military post until after World War II?

EVENING

For dinner, head to Sullivan’s Fish Camp. This Sullivan’s legacy (first established back in ’88) is the perfect post-beach hangout to enjoy a bucket of beers and an abundance of fresh seafood specialties, including oysters, seared tuna, lobster rolls and more.
